ペット・ショップ・ボーイズが〈パーロフォン〉時代のスタジオ・アルバムの画期的な再発シリーズ、「CATALOGUE: 1985-2012」を発表。

この決定的なエディションには、彼らが〈パーロフォン〉に残したカタログ・アルバムに最新リマスターを施し、同時代に作られたデモやペット・ショップ・ボーイズ自身によるミックス等がボーナス・トラックとして収録されます。

ボーナス・ディスクに収録されている多くの楽曲が初のリリースとなり、それぞれのアルバムのパッケージにはニール・テナントとクリス・ロウがそれぞれの楽曲を語る文章を掲載したブックレットを封入。すべてのプロジェクトはファーロウによってデザインされています。

この再発シリーズは、7月28日（金）にサウンドの異なる３枚のアルバム『ナイトライフ』、『リリース』、『ファンダメンタル』からスタートします。

1999年にリリースの『ナイトライフ』

ロロ、クレイグ・アームストロング、デビッド・モラレスといったプロデューサー陣との共同作業である『ナイトライフ』は1999年にリリースされました。完全未発表楽曲である、“リトル・ブラック・ドレス”、“トール・シン・マン”、“フォー・オール・オブ・アス”や未発表のデモ・ヴァージョンの“ヴァンパイアズ”、“コール・ミー・オールドファッションド”、“レディオフォニック”を収録した2枚のCDとともに3枚組デラックス・エディションとして今回リリースされます。

また、アルバム『リリース』にはジョニー・マーがギターで参加し、2002年にＵＫアルバム・チャートで、トップテンに入りました。こちらも未発表曲“モータリング”、“ザ・ナイト・イズ・ア・タイム・トゥ・エクスプロア・フー・ユー・アー”、“ラン、ガール、ラン”、“リユニオン”や未発表ヴァージョンの“ア・パワフル・フレンド（John Peel version）”、“イフ・ルックス・クッド・キル（John Peel version）”そして未発表のギルバート・オサリヴァンのカヴァー・ヴァージョンの“アローン・アゲイン、ナチュラリー（フィーチャリング・エルトン・ジョン）”を収録した2枚のCDとともに、同じく3枚組デラックス・エディションとして今回リリースされます。

壮大なトレヴァー・ホーンのプロデュース『ファンダメンタル』

このシリーズの3枚目となる『ファンダメンタル』は、壮大なトレヴァー・ホーンのプロデュース。リマスターされたオリジナル・アルバムに加え、未発表のデモである「リング・ロード(demo)」、「ワンウェイ・ストリート(demo)」、「 ダンシング・イン・ザ・ダスク(demo)」や未発表ミックスやリミックスなど全22曲を収録したCDとともに、2枚組デラックス・エディションとして今回リリースされます。

第一弾は7月28日（金）※にリリースとな理ますが、本日よりiTunes Storeではプレオーダー受付がスタート。『ナイトライフ』をプレオーダーするとこのアルバムのボーナス・トラックである“For all of us”がその場でダウンロードされるとのこと。

カタログ再発は今後一年にわたって続き、すべての〈パーロフォン〉時代のペット・ショップ・ボーイズのアルバムが、ボーナス・トラックを収録したデラックス・エディションとしてリリースされる予定ですので、ファンにとって堪らない一年となりそうです！
